Cyclopes and Us

Some say that Cyclopes, the one eyed creatures from Greek mythology, are cursed because they know the time of their death.

When I thought about it, I used to ask myself.

Is it a curse, or is it, in fact, liberating?

Then again, I thought about myself, and how I didn't have the slightest clue about my time.

Is it a curse, or is it, in fact, liberating?

I don't know. It may as well be a matter of choice.

Mm.. It's so easy to say it when they're just words.

  1. Like you once said..the realization of death is what makes human seek meaning in their life..

And the knowledge of "when" will suffers us yet necessary...

  2. well, I know a man who already foresee his time of death

and from what I see in him, is liberation

but I also see a man who already know the time of his execution

and from what I see in him, is a curse

wether it a curse or liberation, i think it depends on the quality of your life

  3. I would certainly be the one for knowing the exact day as I can make a detail to do list before that.
But this is just a daydream since the only certainty in life is uncertainties.
    Knowing that is liberating.

  4. I can assure you it's a curse..

look at cancer patient.. knowing everyday that you'll be dead soon..

or more simple look at HIV + patient..

don't see the suffering from their disease coz many can live a high quality life but still empty inside..

watch flashforward tv series it's a good movie to answer your questions i guess..
